Ebay was just a site where a buyer is far less likely to be scammed for it. All this is going to do is drive people to look to more obscure and less reputable sites to find what they need.... or in many cases just give up on GW. We as players might not care about those who give up, but they represent lost cash to A-Net... essentially.
Naturally I don't see this as a reason to give up as I've never been a part of it myself.... but I had considered purchasing rubies and sapphires online to get Vabbian Armor.... as I know I'll never be able to get them myself in game (and it would take me forever to get enough cash to buy them).
If A-Net really wanted to put an end to this problem... they should balance out the classes more evenly so none is any better at farming solo than the next. Not necessarily an overall reduction.... but enough so farming would be less profitable to the farmers, and getting what was necessary would be less difficult for those who would normally have to rely on farmers ..... which is usually based on existing funds, class choice, etc. O'course... maybe A-Net should consider selling in-game gold for real cash themselves...
O'course.... the choice in this case is Ebay's own... They're just protecting their own interests... so I can't really blame 'em. Its not helping our situation though.

A quick browse of the sites which appear from a google search leads me to believe some are very trustworthy. After researching a few big name ones who own many well known forums and auction sites I see little risk of being scammed. ige, virgoods etc
Anyone with a brain cell would be able to do the above.

Im no mod, but your walking bare feet on thin ice bro. IMO Anet has not "destroyed" anything yet I expect if I keep talking about that this will turn into another PvE vs PvP/ 6v6HA VS 8v8HA all over again.
Point is you have no rights if your account gets banned they make the law.
Its over, period. It's called the company policy of user agreement you confirmed to when you scrolled down and clicked 'accept'.

That statement makes you look either very ignorant or in denial.
I suppose Anet should charge you back for all the bandwidth you used up? Its only fair ^_^

Technically, what you paid for was the right to access content provided by their servers, a right which is revokable as per their EULA. In point of fact, you do not physically control any of the content on their servers, and they are free to manipulate it any way they wish, up to and including deletion. You could, in fact, get your r10 account banned simply for stating your intention to sell it, if they had a means to determine your game account. So, in general, no, you are not entitled to do as you wish.

I have a feeling gold farmers might just pack up and move somewhere else, like craigslist or some other virtual shop like that... But at least no more ebay gold which is good.

I can say whatever the hell I want, did I sell my account, no. I just want the monies that I wasted on a game they boasted was no pay to play. I don't want a profit AT ALL from it. Only reason I bought Factions and Nightfall was due to the skills needed for HA. Anet decided to change the game which I enjoyed (HA) and it wasn't just a subtle change at all. HA is a complete mess and gets worse everytime they try and "fix" it. Can you imagine the outrage PvE players would have if they got rid of UW or FoW? It's pretty much to the same degree for me with HA.

Your motives for selling your account are irrelevant to the discussion. It doesn't matter whether you are happy with the game or not, nor does it matter whether you intend to make a profit or not. The EULA does not make exceptions for any of those cases. The license that you purchased granted you access to their service, access that is revokable and non-transferable (as stated here: http://www.guildwars.com/support/leg...-agreement.php in section 3, "License to Use"). As we all know by now, the EULA also expressely prohibits the sale or auction of "any Game(s) accounts, characters, items, coin or copyrighted material, nor may you assist others in doing so." (section 7, "Official Service").
Granted, the legal strength of an EULA has not been extensively argued (to my knowledge), so it is possible that Anet cannot take legal action against you for attempting to sell your account, or stating your intention to do so, just as they are likely unable to take legal action against professional gold sellers. However, it is certainly within both their means and their rights to ban your account both prior to and following any attempted or successful sale.
The point being, while it's true you can say "whatever the hell you want", it may not be in your best interest to act like a flaming moron.

This thread just proves what Ebay is doing means nothing

These might have got their gold legally but I highly doubt it.
Browsed Ebay and I find someone that bought 2.4mill over the space of 2 weeks.

Isn't making much difference anyway.
Granted... some of the fancier sales have been removed from Ebay.... but the gold sales are back with a vengeance...
I guess some people just don't take no for an answer.

I agree, I'm sure it would slow (I dont see it ever stopping.) if Anet would bann more gold buyers in the future. Maybe it would be better if they do that instead of going after the companies. Then the average player would be more fearfull of buying said gold. *shrugs* Just a thought.

Like I said before... if A-Net care that much then they should sell in-game gold for cash themselves. That way they can profit more from the process and control it better.
I'm not sure exactly how ignoring the sellers would help...
